"What and emotional journey Dean takes you on in her raw and emotional novel "Waiting for Danica". The life about a young teen in Melbourne's 80's from a multicultural background trying to find her identity and place in the city. Deans writing skills are to be commended, as they speak to a wide audience and even though you are able to understand the story clearly it does not mean it is an easy read. The book takes you on a whirlwind of emotions through Danica's teenage life - love, happiness, anger. But by the end, I must admit I had a few tears, you know this is an honest story with real people about real life. Beautiful told, it had me holding on until the end. 5 out of 5!"
